Body Lift
A body lift procedure is a cosmetic
operation performed to remove the excess skin and/or fatty tissue that
exists on a patient's body resulting from age or extreme weight loss.
Individuals who aren't able to lose thirty or fourty pounds through diet
or exercise also may be good candidates for body lift surgery. Your local
surgeon will determine whether you are a good candidate during your consultation.
The procedure can take as long as seven hours, and the recovery from a
body lift an be painful and extended. Patients have tubes and drains left
in their skin for seven to fourteen days following their procedure to
drain any tissue fluid or blood. The majority of surgeons will position
the scars in bodily areas where they will be easily concealed by a swimsuit
or underwear.
